Join Pack 93 for the Salinas Veteran's Parade, Monday, November 11th!

Hi Pack 93 Families,

Come join us for the Salinas Veteran's Day Parade on Monday, November 11th. The boys have a lot of fun marching in the parade, and it also provides an opportunity for them to show appreciation for our Veterans.

Please arrive by 1:15 pm so we can be settled by the start of the opening ceremonies at 1:30.  The parade will start promptly at 2:00 pm.

All family members are free to join in.  Scouts wear your uniform and show Pack 93 pride!

Where:  Meet in the Salinas High School Student Parking Lot, 726 South Main Street. Usually all the scouts (Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts) are grouped in the same area, so we shouldn't be too hard to find.  You will need to park in the neighborhoods adjacent to Salinas High School.

When: 1:15 - 3:30pm (about...)

If you and your scout plan to participate, please add your name to the attendance spreadsheet so we know to expect you.

Please note this will take the place of our normal meeting, which would be held on Monday the 11th of November.  We will not meet the evening of the 11th since we will be marching in the parade that afternoon.

See you at the parade!

Al

Meeting Time for Garland Ranch Hike is 10:00 am

Hi All,

There was an inconsistency in the last blog posting regarding the meeting time for the hike this Saturday.  We will meet at 10:00 am in the Garland Ranch parking lot rather than 10:30 am as mentioned at one point in the text of the message.

If you have any questions, don't hesitate to text me at 831-236-7607.

Best regards,

Al

Garland Ranch Hike this Saturday, October 19th at 10:00 am

We are hiking at Garland Ranch Regional Park in Carmel Valley this Saturday October 19th at 10:00 am.

This is part of the Monterey Bay Trekker patch series ( http://svmbc.org/svmbc/activities/cub-scout-year-round-activities/monterey-bay-trekkers/ ).

We will meet in the parking lot at Garland Ranch at 10:00am, then walk to the Ranger Station to visit restrooms before the hike. The hike is around 2.5 miles and takes the Waterfall Trail to the Mesa pond, then loops back down again. It is listed as "easy to moderate". There are some steps and a steep climb for a short part of the trail. It is appropriate for Tigers, but if you are bringing younger children, you might consider taking a shorter loop around the park.

Please dress in layers since it may be cool at the start, but will warm up once we start hiking. Bring water, sunscreen and hats for the hike. If you want to picnic at the end of the hike, you can pack a light lunch or snacks.

Garland Ranch Regional Park is located at 700 W Carmel Valley Rd, Carmel Valley, CA 93924.  More info on the park, including directions can be found at https://www.mprpd.org/garland-ranch-regional-park .

So we know who will be joining us, please sign up on the attendance spreadsheet on the blog at: http://pack93toro.blogspot.com/p/attendance-spreadsheet.html .

We hope to see you all this Saturday!

Hi Pack 93 Families,

Please bring your scouts and join us on Saturday, October 12th at Toro Park School to help collect litter and recyclables after the Washington Union Harvest Carnival.  This will be a great opportunity to support the Washington Union Parent's Club and our schools.  Come have fun at the carnival in the afternoon and then join us at 4 pm to help clean up after the event.  Many hands make light work!

As a reminder, our next regular Pack 93 meeting will be Monday, October 14th at 6:00 pm at Church of the Good Shepherd.

Hope to see you all on Saturday.  Have a great week!
