Aquarium Sleepover Details

Our long-awaited Monterey Bay Aquarium Sleepover will be this Saturday night, April 6th!

Please arrive at 6:45 pm at the Main Entrance of the Aquarium and check in with Marilyn Black, who will be our Pack leader for this event. Our group will check-in with the Aquarium at 7:00 pm. Our entire party must be present to efficiently complete the check-in process.

At check-in, you will receive a wristband, Sleepover Program Guide and Aquarium map.
    • Your wristband will act as re-admission into the Aquarium for the following day (e.g. if the Sleepover begins Saturday night, admission will be for Sunday).
    • After check-in, you will be directed to stow your overnight gear until it is time to setup sleeping areas at approximately 9:45 pm. Sleeping areas will be assigned based on the number of participants and types of parties attending.
    • Security may conduct bag checks at the entrance to the event.
    • Security will lock all outside doors once check-in is complete to keep the guests and staff safe.
    • Late arrival is difficult to accommodate.
    • If you are unexpectedly delayed and arrive after check-in, contact the Security Office at (831) 648-4840.

What to bring
    • Sleeping bag and optional pad or air mattress; Aquarium floors are hard.

Monterey Bay Aquarium Overnight Signup

Hi Scout Families!

We have an exciting event coming up in April--an overnight at the Monterey Bay Aquarium! The overnight will start at 7:00 pm on Saturday, April 6th and departure is between 7:45 and 8:30 am on Sunday, April 7th.

There is a sign-up page for the overnight on the Attendance Spreadsheet section of the blog at: http://pack93toro.blogspot.com/p/attendance-spreadsheet.html .  The normal cost for participation is $95 per person.  Due to our success with mistletoe sales over the holiday, the Pack will contribute $45 to the cost for each scout, so the fee for scouts will be $50 and the fee for other family members will be $95.

The overnight includes a light evening snack and breakfast on Sunday morning.  Dinner is not provided, so participants will need to be fed prior to arrival.  A variety of activities are offered throughout the evening for sleepover participants and admission to the aquarium is included for the following day.

Sleepovers require one chaperone (≥21 years of age) for every four youths (1:4). Guests must be ≥5 years of age. Guests ≥18 years of age do not require a chaperone.  We will coordinate chaperone coverage by den, so if you don't plan to attend with your scout, please coordinate with your den leader to ensure adequate chaperone coverage.

We are required to submit our final attendance list by February 6th, so please sign up no later than Monday, February 4th.

We will provide more information for the overnight in the coming weeks, but for now, additional information can be found in the guide at: https://www.montereybayaquarium.org/-/m/pdf/aquarium-adventures/aquarium-sleepover-planning-guide-seashore.pdf .

We look forward to seeing you all at this exciting event!

First Meeting of 2019 on Monday, January 14th and Pinewood Derby on Saturday, January 26th!

Hi Pack 93 Families,

Just a quick reminder that our first meeting of 2019 will be this Monday, January 14th at our normal time of 6:00 pm.  We hope to see you all there.

Please also make sure you block SATURDAY, January 26th on your calendars for the Pinewood Derby at the Church.  We are doing this because with the number of boys we have, we don't have enough time to run the races on our normal Monday night meetings.

Hopefully all the boys have a Pinewood Derby car kit.  If your scout hasn't received a car yet, be sure to pick one up on Monday night so you and your scout will have time to build it prior to the 26th.  If you can't attend on Monday, please contact your Den Leader to get a car.

Lots of info on the Pinewood Derby can be found on the blog at http://pack93toro.blogspot.com/p/pinewood-derby.html.  A lot of the information is generic, and not necessarily how we will run the races, but it gives a good idea.

We are going to hold the races at staggered times.  The boys are welcome to come earlier or stay later and watch all the races, but the different times will help us run the races more efficiently and ensure the younger boys don't have to be there too long.

Webelos 1 and 2 Scouts will start at 1:00 pm.

Bears will start at 2pm

Wolves and Tigers will start at 2:30.

We will have scales to weigh cars to make sure they meet the limits.  We will also have some repair items in case a car loses a wheel/axel, etc.  If you have any questions, please feel free to ask your Den leader.

See you all Monday night!
